Sunny Ibiza, one of my best friends retreats, pilates, an amazing group of ladies and the most incredible chef. Sound like heaven? Well I can tell you now that that’s exactly what a week in Ibiza on Lottie Murphys and Kimberly Parsons retreat was.
Now I am sure if you have followed me on social media and my blog for a while then you will be fully aware of mine and Lottie’s friendship. We meet through blogging and she soon became one of my closest friends in life, I adore this girl she is an all round mega babe, super inspiring a fantastic Pilates teacher and we barely go a day without talking. Now I am aware this sounds like a gushy love letter to Lottie but I just wanted to make y’all aware of how much I adore this girl and am so proud of what she has achieved. Being able to attend her sold out retreat in Ibiza was such an amazing experience.
ANYWAYS moving on from my fangirl paragraph about Lottie ha (if you are reading this Lots then heyyyyyy haha). A little bit more about the retreat itself, so it was hosted by Lottie who ran all the Pilaetes classes and workshops etc then Kimberly Parsons was in charge of fuelling us all with the most delicious healthy meals. I first discovered Kimberly’s delicious cooking when I visited her retreat in Catalonia for the launch of her book The Yoga Kitchen and fell in love with her food. So once I knew Kimberly was the chef on this retreat I knew the food was going to be pretty special. And that it was, think healthy nutritious meals which taste fantastic a few of my favourite things being her tumeric porridge, kale granola, chia seed pudding and savoury flapjacks. Not only are Kimberly’s dishes super healthy but also taste insane, the flavours are so good and her knowledge of food is just on another level.
The retreat itself was the perfect escape from life, Ibiza is still one of my favourite places. I have said it before and will say it again it’s my happy place I feel so content and chilled when I am there and this time was no different. The Villa was up in the hills away from everything with the most breathtaking views across Ibiza. We managed to find a little rooftop which became our go to sunset spot. So yes dreamy spot, dreamy villa which came with a Pilates pod in the grounds where we started and ended most days with Lottie sharing her Pilates teaching with us. If you haven’t been to her class before then make sure you do, she is one of the best Pilates teachers I have ever had (and girl has been to a hella lot of pilates classes!!!).
Aside from Pilates the week was spent exploring Ibiza, I lead a sunset hike to Es Vedra which was magical we hike to the top viewing tower then sat and ate Kimberlys cookies and watched the sunset. We went for lunch at one of my fave healthy spots Passion Cafe, went for walks, lay by the pool, read loads of books, had a dance night lead by Chloe who is such a babe and has ALL the moves. We danced, laughed, drunk red wine (best type of retreat) switched off from life and for me there is pretty much no topping that. It was truly a special week with the loveliest ladies who all became so close. Retreats are one of my favourite things to do, you escape life and enter a magical bubble which is often so hard to leave. Thank you Lottie and Kimberly for having me, I have been to many a retreat and this was definitely one of my favourites!!
So here’s to watching more sunsets, exploring new places, making new friends and enjoying amazing opportunities life throws at us.
