With the health industry booming in London it only makes sense to find out more about the brains behind some of these fantastic brands that are helping make us Londoners that bit healthier. Where better than the duo behind Imbibery cold pressed juices. This fantastic brand provide cold pressed juices, mylks, shots and cleanses which are packed full of nutrients and may I add….oh so tasty! So I decided to find out a bit more about the best friends Meryl and Lily, why they started Imbibery, their backgrounds, their advice every day routines and much much more. I hope you enjoy what they have to say as much as I did :)
1. How and when did Imbibery first come about?
We were both living in Europe and couldn’t find a delicious cold-pressed juice that easily worked into our lives. It was one of those things we just knew, if we wanted it we were going to have to make it!
2. Can you describe Imbibery in a nutshell?
To us Imbibery is a way of life- it’s living the best and most open life possible. Imbibe means to drink as well as absorb through the mind. We’re just trying to take it all in! Our cold-pressed juices embody that mentality- you’re drinking pure goodness and being pure goodness!
3. What do you think makes Imbibery unique from other juice brands out there?
The taste—we spent so much time sourcing the best produce and developing the yummiest recipes. We also have low minimum order quantities online and free delivery. We are also available all throughout London, so we make it very easy to have a juice a day! Imbibers are always on the go- we make it super easy to help them reset- Jet and Reset!
4. How do you think the attitudes towards healthy living have changed in London over the last year/s
People are definitely much more educated and interested. Our Green juice is our best seller so we think that says it all—people are all about all things green!! We love it! We also find that Imbibers are jazzed and super exciting about juicing and partaking in team events and activities like Wednesday Cleanseday!
5. Can you tell us about both of your backgrounds?
Meryl came to London to study at LSE in finance and accounting and Lily was in Paris getting a degree at La Sarbonne. We thought we’d actually go into art and spent a lot of time together looking into art fairs but it was so clear to us our truest passion was health, wellness, and food!
6. Where did your love of health and fitness come from?
That’s easy! Our mothers!
7. What do you both love most about your job?
Each other! And the juice! All juice all the time!
8. What’s a typical day in the life of Meryl and Lily?
There’s no way to answer that because there really is no standard day. We’re always on the go running in and out of meetings, going into the kitchen, all the while replying to endless emails!
9. What do you guys typically eat in a day?
Lily starts her day with Mind Mylk and oatmeal. Meryl starts her day with a Coffee Almond Mylk and Hydro or Green juice. We always have juice on hand as we’re running around. We also always have Punch Superseeds on us- we love the Raw Cacao Boost! For lunch we’ll have a mixed salad with avocado and artichokes. Gails’ vegan pots are amazing and we love to grab those! Dinner varies. We eat out a lot – and when we’re home we love soups! We also eat a lot of avocado on rice cakes with pepper or almond butter and banana on rice cakes.
10. What’s your favourite meals and do either of you have any healthy cooking tips?
We love love love a good chopped salad. Our healthiest cooking tip is make what you enjoy and eat with people you love.
11. Any favourite eating spots here in London?
We love Toto’s, Grill Market, Grace Belgravia, and Chucs.
12. What’s your exercise routine?
We either spin at Psycle or do the Blast Class at Lomax– killer and awesome!
13. Do you have any advice for young working women trying to lead a healthy lifestyle?
Don’t be too hard on yourself and eat and do what you enjoy. When people ask which juice is best for them our answer is always, “which one do you like the most?” You’re only going to stick with something if you like it, not just because it’s “good for you.” Same thing with exercise: find something that you find fun! Exercise is just as much if not more for the mind and soul so do what makes you happy. That’s what becomes addictive and you’ll consistently do.
