Hannah Saul is an Australian supermodel, who has modelled for brands such as Lorna Jane, Bendon and many more. Funnily enough she was one of the first women I followed on Instagram. So when I learned she was releasing an app I just had to find out more. The app is called HAN x FIT and it offers options for everyone whether you are at a beginner, intermediate or advanced level of fitness. Exercises are accompanied with photos and written explanations and there are also video tutorials for those who need a little more instruction on each of the drills.
Expect to focus on core engagement, lifting glutes and achieving lean legs. You’ll be walking the tube platform like you’re walking the Victoria Secret’s catwalk before you know.
I interview Hannah on natalieglaze.com and find out more about the supermodel, her background, how fitness came into her life and the exciting launch of her new app. I hope you enjoy what she has to say. Natalie x
- Can you explain to us a bit about your background
I grew up on the beach at Lennox Heads and Byron Bay and I used to spend a lot of my time surfing or at surf club so being active has always been a huge part of my life.
I moved to Sydney when I was 19 to model and never looked back. I have travelled the world working as a model for the past 7 years and have now just taken the last 6 months off to work on HanXfit which has been such an amazing process for me.
- How did you first get into the modelling industry
I was scouted when I was 18 in Brisbane by Dally’s Models who entered me into the NEXT New York model search, which I won and then I flew to New York and my career started from there I moved to Sydney to work full time with Chic management.
- Has health and fitness always been a big part of your life?
Health and fitness has always been a huge part of my life – I really had to step it up a gear when working in Sydney as model as your body is your product so you need to always be swimwear ready so my workouts have definitely changed in the way of how I exercise. On the health side its pretty simple – you know whats good and bad for you. Food is like petrol for the body ! you cant expect premium results from yourself if you’re not feeding it the right nutrients
- How have you seen attitudes towards health and fitness change over the last few years?
Its great that people are becoming for fitness conscious and becoming aware of looking after their bodies inside and out.
Now there are so many gyms, super food café’s, apps, health clubs, spa’s and all over outdoor activities it becomes part of life to be active and a great way to meet new people and realize how great our bodies are really designed to feel.
- Can you explain to us a bit about the HanxFit app
I have been working on www.hanxfit.com for the past 2 years in conjunction with Moment Media and my personal trainer Nick Tait.
The app is broken up into bodyweight, gym, core and kettle bell workouts. There are beginner, intermediate and advanced options and there are photos and written explanations to accompany each exercise plus videos for those who want a better visual.
The app can be used anywhere as I have catered for those who want to use free weights and those who just want to train with body weight. It has received some great feedback so far which is great! We will be launching new workouts every 3 months too.
6. Where did the idea for the app come from?
I had a lot of girls reaching out to me asking how I trained or what I did to keep in shape so I was inspired to create something for females that like me; had busy schedules, constantly travelling or were just looking for different ways to push their bodies or for the girls who simply couldn’t afford the high costs of a trainer or just simply needed some guidance with their training.
I needed to be ahead of the market given that everything these days is digital so it only seemed right to create an app as everyone I know has a smart phone.
- What makes the app unique to other fitness apps out there
my app is a reflection of me and my lifestyle. I have kept it very low and affordable for all women. I have workouts for all levels of intensity and for girls who are just getting into fitness there are beginner programs to advanced programs. It is circuit based training you can do anywhere anytime. You make the workouts to suit your lifestyle.
I also have created a version for IPTV so you can stream the app through your Smart tv and do the workouts real time !
- How important is balance in living a healthy lifestyle
Balance to me is everything in life. You need to still be able to enjoy yourself. You can never be to extreme in one direction otherwise you end up cracking. Too much of one thing isn’t necessarily a good thing.
- Do you have any key fitness tips for those wanting to lead a more active lifestyle?
