BePilates is my new favourite place to work out. First and foremostly its beautiful studio, I mean seriously stunning. Trust me its an photo taking heaven, white walls, bright lighting. Instagram dream. Its based in Marylebone on Chiltern Street and does a variety of pilates from group classes to individual sessions on the reformer, mat, MOTR, tower you name it Dawne probably has that pilates equipment in her studio. I could honestly talk about the studio and how beautiful it is for hours. But basically the thing is you just have to go there, one for the sheer beauty of the studio and two for the amazing variety of classes and equipment it has to offer.
So BePilates has everything you could ever want in terms of pilates, all the equipment and machines available. Not only that but they do fantastic classes on the reformer and a new style of class called MOTR which is so great for balance and core work. I love the fact that BePilates reaffirmed to me just how amazing pilates could be. I think pilates gets a bad rep for being a bit boring and not that hard a workout. This is such an old fashioned conception as BePilates is the exact opposite of this. It takes pilates to a whole new level and trust me you will work hard.

The first class I did there was the MOTR, the classes are always a four person maximum meaning they are very personal and you almost feel as if its a one on one training rather than a group class. This means the instructor can really focus on each individual. The MOTR class is great it focuses a lot on core control, balance alignment and functional movement. All the time using a crazy bit of equipment which looks like the foam rollers cooler older sister. The class was challenging, and pushed me a lot, I really felt it in my abs the next day, which for me is a big plus point. I am one of those sad individuals who enjoys the post ab workout pain.
The second class I took there was a reformer class, this was with a group of bloggers all of which exercise regularly one of whom was actually a pilates instructor. The class was SO hard, this was reformer on another level. I am not that experienced on reformer but this was seriously challenging. I was actually sweating at the end. The class was taken by Dawne the founder who as always was a fantastic teacher and really pushed us to our max. There is no hiding at the back in Dawnes classes.
BePilates also has such a range of equipment, which I have discovered a new love on. I just love being upside down these days, who knew. Now I am not in any way flexible, although I wish I was. So there is no splits and crazy bendy moves coming out of this body at the moment but I love being able to use my strength and upper body on the pilates machines to push my body in ways I had never tried before.
There you have it, my glowing review of the fantastic BePilates, a beautiful studio with fantastic personal range of classes and the most amazing range of equipment. If you think pilates is easy or in any way for the older generation (don’t lie some of you think this) then head to BePilates and be prepared to see pilates in a whole new light.
