My Healthy Flying Essentials

healthy flying essentials

Solo flying is something I only started doing last year, but I can honestly say I love flying by myself. There is something empowering about arriving at an airport by yourself and boarding a plane then a few hours later arriving in a new country ready for your next adventure. There are a few flying essentials I always make sure I travel with to help make my journey go as smoothly as possible, so I thought I would share these with you all :)

  1. Firstly and most importantly a bottle of water- its so important to stay hydrated when flying so make sure you grab a big bottle once you are through security. Hydration is key people :)
  2. My own teabags- following on the drinking theme but this time with tea one of my favourite things. I recently started bringing my own favourite herbal tea bags with me on flights which is a life changer. I always pack a selection so I have choice my personal favourites being peppermint, pukka tea tulsi tea or yogi tea digestion tea.
  3. Headspace- often the week or few days before I go away tend to be crazy busy so when I get on the flight its the first time I can switch off. Having to turn my phone on flight mode is the dream. I will try and do 10 minutes of meditation when flying just to help my mind calm. If you are new to meditation try Headspace, its great for guiding you through 10 minutes which will honestly make such a difference.
  4. A good playlist or Podcast- if meditating isn’t your thing (not for everyone lets be honest) then a great playlist or podcast can be just as effective as helping you switch off your mind.
  5. A Great book- I love reading, I have always found nothing more enjoyable than getting myself lost in a story and switching off the outside world. Whether it be a trashy romance, a period drama, a thriller you name it I will read it.
